16-Year-Old Donor Saves Three Lives in Bihar's First State-Funded Liver Transplant

A 16-year-old boy, Monu Kumar, who succumbed to injuries from a road accident, has given the gift of life to three individuals through organ donation. His parents made the difficult decision to donate his liver and two kidneys, offering hope to three families. This act enabled Bihar's first-ever liver transplant to be successfully performed at government expense. The donated liver went to a 19-year-old girl, while two kidneys were transplanted into patients at IGIMS and ESIC hospitals in Patna.

सड़क हादसे में घायल होने के बाद जान गंवाने वाले 16 साल के मोनू कुमार ने तीन लोगों को अंग दान करके जीवन का उपहार दिया है। उनके माता-पिता ने उनका लिवर और दो किडनी दान करने का कठिन निर्णय लिया, जिससे तीन परिवारों को उम्मीद मिली। इस काम से बिहार का पहला लिवर ट्रांसप्लांट सरकारी खर्चे पर सफलतापूर्वक किया गया। दान किया गया लिवर 19 साल की एक लड़की को मिला, जबकि दो किडनी पटना के IGIMS और ESIC अस्पतालों में मरीजों को लगाई गईं।
