IIIT Ranchi First-Year Student Dies by Suicide; Probe Underway

A first-year student at IIIT Ranchi allegedly died by suicide in his hostel room on Saturday night. The incident came to light when other students alerted the administration after finding the room locked from the inside. Police confirmed the death and stated that a probe is underway, with preliminary investigations suggesting examination pressure as a possible cause. The student's family has been informed, and the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights is also taking cognisance of the matter.
