Foreign Investors Pull Out ₹3 Lakh Crore From Indian Markets In 9 Months

News18 Hindi · india

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have continued their selling spree in Indian stock markets, withdrawing ₹44,166 crore in October alone. This brings the total outflow to over ₹3.04 lakh crore in 2026, significantly higher than the ₹1.66 lakh crore withdrawn in the entire previous year. Key reasons cited include high crude oil prices, a strong dollar, and rising US bond yields. This sustained selling has contributed to a 13.87% drop in the Nifty index this year, making it rational for investors to seek safer, higher-yielding options.
