GCC has rescued 66 homeless individuals, including 23 children, from pavements near Chepauk Stadium and Peters Road. The group, comprising 18 men and 25 women, along with children and a differently-abled person, was moved to shelter homes on Marina Beach before the monsoon. These families, some residing there for years, have been provided with cubicle-like shelters equipped with basic amenities. The GCC plans to organize a health camp and focus on their rehabilitation, with similar efforts extended to seven families from the Narikurava community.
