The Paondhoi River in Saharanpur, once considered the city's lifeline and historically significant for its spiritual connection to Lord Shiva, has deteriorated into a polluted drain. Believed to have emerged from the earth due to the penance of Baba Lal Das and flowing over the feet of Shiva idols, the river once hosted religious festivals and bathing rituals. Despite crores spent on its cleanup, it now primarily carries sewage and household waste, losing its original Ganga source.
