Ex-India Cricketer Aakash Chopra Questions Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Omission

Times of India · sports

Former India opener Aakash Chopra has urged the team management to clarify the role of young cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after he was dropped for the fourth T20I against New Zealand. Chopra suggested that if Sooryavanshi is unlikely to get regular opportunities, he should return to domestic cricket for more match experience. Sooryavanshi had played in the second and third T20Is after Ishan Kishan's injury, scoring 4 and 45 respectively. Chopra believes the decision to drop him from a dead rubber match raises questions about India's long-term plans for the player.
