Odisha school textbooks for Classes 1 to 8 have been found to contain 1,741 errors, including grammatical, typographical, and factual mistakes. This revelation comes despite the state spending Rs 175 crore on printing and publication. The Class 8 Science textbook alone had 294 errors. The errors were identified after distribution, with corrigenda and revised textbooks now being provided. An inquiry highlighted issues with overlapping reviewer roles and compressed timelines in the textbook preparation process, leading to these undetected mistakes.

ओडिशा में पहली से आठवीं कक्षा की किताबों में 1,741 गलतियाँ मिली हैं। इनमें व्याकरण, छपाई और तथ्यों की गड़बड़ियाँ शामिल हैं। राज्य ने छपाई पर 175 करोड़ रुपये खर्च किए हैं, फिर भी ये गलतियाँ सामने आई हैं। खास तौर पर आठवीं की विज्ञान की किताब में 294 गलतियाँ थीं। ये सब तब पता चला जब किताबें बंट गईं। अब सुधार पत्र और नई किताबें दी जा रही हैं। जांच में पता चला कि समीक्षा प्रक्रिया में गड़बड़ी और समय की कमी के कारण ये गलतियाँ रह गईं।
