Kerala Minister: Ration Cards Are Basic IDs, Won't Be Denied Over Non-Usage

Kerala Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob stated that ration cards will not be denied to individuals who haven't purchased supplies for six months, considering them fundamental identification documents. The state aims to reactivate approximately five lakh blue and white cards that might be frozen by the Centre. Jacob assured that the state will take steps to safeguard all ration cards, especially around 50,000 priority cards potentially affected.

केरल के खाद्य और नागरिक आपूर्ति मंत्री अनूप जैकब ने कहा कि जो लोग छह महीने से राशन नहीं खरीद रहे हैं, उनके राशन कार्ड रद्द नहीं किए जाएंगे। इन्हें बुनियादी पहचान पत्र माना जाएगा। राज्य का लक्ष्य केंद्र द्वारा फ्रीज किए जा सकने वाले लगभग पांच लाख नीले और सफेद कार्ड को फिर से सक्रिय करना है। जैकब ने आश्वासन दिया कि राज्य सभी राशन कार्डों को सुरक्षित रखने के लिए कदम उठाएगा, खासकर लगभग 50,000 प्राथमिकता वाले कार्ड जो प्रभावित हो सकते हैं।
