Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan defended the government's decision to purchase power from GNA Energy, stating that an alternative proposal from Himachal Pradesh would have incurred an additional cost of Rs 2,232 crore for the state. He clarified that the Himachal offer was not a direct government-to-government deal, as PTC India Ltd, involved in the transaction, would also add its margin. Satheesan highlighted that GNA Energy would supply significantly more electricity, 1,812 million units by March, compared to Himachal's 843 million units.
