Kashmir University Head Removed Over Student Harassment Allegations

The Central University of Kashmir has removed Chinnappan Baskar, head of its chemistry department, following accusations of harassment by female students. Students alleged Baskar made lewd remarks, asked one student out on a date, and threatened their careers. The university has initiated an inquiry and Baskar has been relieved of his official duties pending its outcome. The university has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy on sexual harassment, promising confidentiality and action under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act.

सेंट्रल यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ कश्मीर ने अपनी केमिस्ट्री डिपार्टमेंट की हेड चिनप्पन भास्कर को महिला छात्रों द्वारा उत्पीड़न के आरोपों के बाद हटा दिया है। छात्रों ने आरोप लगाया कि भास्कर ने अश्लील टिप्पणियां कीं, एक छात्र को डेट पर चलने के लिए कहा, और उनके करियर को खतरे में डालने की धमकी दी। यूनिवर्सिटी ने जांच शुरू कर दी है और भास्कर को इसके नतीजे आने तक उनके आधिकारिक कर्तव्यों से मुक्त कर दिया गया है। यूनिवर्सिटी ने यौन उत्पीड़न के खिलाफ जीरो-टॉलरेंस नीति की फिर से पुष्टि की है, और गोपनीयता और यौन उत्पीड़न निवारण अधिनियम के तहत कार्रवाई का वादा किया है।
