Tiger Captured Near Gudalur After Preying On Livestock

A 13-year-old tiger suspected of preying on livestock near Gudalur in the Nilgiris was captured by the forest department on Thursday. The animal was found trapped in a cage set up by officials after being lured with a goat. Forest officials noted deep wounds on its face and that the tiger appeared tired, suggesting potential infighting. This capture occurs a month after another tiger, suspected in the deaths of two men, was trapped in the same area. The captured tiger is slated for relocation to Vandalur zoo in Chennai.

नीलगिरि के गुडलुर के पास मवेशियों को मारने के शक में एक 13 साल के बाघ को गुरुवार को वन विभाग ने पकड़ लिया। अधिकारियों ने बकरी का लालच देकर लगाए गए पिंजरे में जानवर को फंसाया। वन अधिकारियों ने उसके चेहरे पर गहरे घाव देखे और बताया कि बाघ थका हुआ लग रहा था, जिससे संभावित लड़ाई का संकेत मिलता है। यह गिरफ्तारी उसी इलाके में दो लोगों की मौत के शक में एक अन्य बाघ के पकड़े जाने के एक महीने बाद हुई है। पकड़े गए बाघ को चेन्नई के वंडलूर चिड़ियाघर में स्थानांतरित किया जाएगा।
