South Africa has achieved the number one position in the ICC Test rankings, ending Australia's long-standing dominance. The Proteas secured a 2-1 series victory against the World Test Champions Australia in a thrilling contest. After losing the first Test in Durban, South Africa staged a remarkable comeback, drawing the second match and then decisively winning the third in Cape Town. This marks South Africa's return to the top spot after a decade, with their last reign ending in January 2016.
