Rearers can insure their animals for just ₹13 per animal annually, with the government subsidizing the remaining premium. The scheme is part of broader welfare measures, including potential loan waivers and ₹5 lakh life insurance under the Indiramma Bima scheme for cooperative society members. तेलंगाना के मंत्री वकटी श्रीहरी ने करीमनगर में भेड़ और बकरी बीमा योजना शुरू की है, जिसका मकसद चरवाहा समुदाय को सहारा देना है। पालने वाले प्रति जानवर सालाना सिर्फ़ ₹13 देकर अपने जानवरों का बीमा करा सकते हैं, बाकी प्रीमियम सरकार भरेगी। यह योजना व्यापक कल्याणकारी उपायों का हिस्सा है, जिसमें सहकारी समिति के सदस्यों के लिए संभावित ऋण माफी और इंदिरम्मा बीमा योजना के तहत ₹5 लाख का जीवन बीमा शामिल है। इस पहल का उद्देश्य राज्य भर में भेड़ पालने वालों की उत्पादकता और आय बढ़ाना है।
