Man Sues Florida City Over Zoning Ban

A Rhode Island man has filed a federal lawsuit against the City of North Port, Florida, after an 18-year retirement plan was thwarted. Art Yatsko purchased a residential lot in 2006 with plans to build a home there after retirement. However, upon preparing for construction in 2024, he discovered the property had been rezoned, prohibiting new single-family residences. The Institute for Justice represents Yatsko, stating the zoning change prevents his planned construction.
