Guntur Intensifies Water Chlorination Post-Floods To Prevent Contamination

Guntur district's Rural Water Supply Department has initiated an extensive chlorination and super-chlorination drive across drinking water schemes following floods caused by Cyclone Murasu. Acting on District Collector C.M. Saikanth Varma's instructions, the department is inspecting water supply schemes in numerous villages to identify and prevent contamination. Officials ensured water schemes were filled to capacity in advance, with additional precautions now being taken. While the department is working to ensure safe drinking water, residents are advised to boil water as a precautionary measure against waterborne diseases.

साइक्लोन मुरसु के कारण आई बाढ़ के बाद गुंटूर जिले के ग्रामीण जल आपूर्ति विभाग ने पीने के पानी की योजनाओं में बड़े पैमाने पर क्लोरीनीकरण और सुपर-क्लोरीनीकरण अभियान शुरू किया है। डिस्ट्रिक्ट कलेक्टर सी.एम. साईकांत वर्मा के निर्देशों पर, विभाग कई गांवों में जल आपूर्ति योजनाओं का निरीक्षण कर रहा है ताकि संदूषण की पहचान की जा सके और उसे रोका जा सके। अधिकारियों ने पहले ही पानी की योजनाओं को पूरी क्षमता से भर दिया था, और अब अतिरिक्त सावधानियां बरती जा रही हैं। जबकि विभाग सुरक्षित पेयजल सुनिश्चित करने के लिए काम कर रहा है, निवासियों को जलजनित बीमारियों के खिलाफ एहतियाती उपाय के तौर पर पानी उबालने की सलाह दी जाती है।
