This alleged recording was then used to pressure Siddaramaiah into leaving his post. The Congress party has dismissed these accusations as baseless and politically motivated. Shivakumar himself stated that sting operations were attempted to frame him after he became Chief Minister. Kumaraswamy has demanded an investigation into the alleged sting operation.
