Farmers Protest Block Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway For Two Hours

Farmers staged a two-hour protest at the Gananguru toll plaza on the Mysuru-Bengaluru highway on October 23, 2026. Led by MLA Darshan Puttannaiah and KRRS leader Badagalapura Nagendra, the farmers demanded a hike in sugarcane prices. Police diverted traffic to alternative routes while attempting to negotiate with the protestors. The highway blockade, which lasted from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., was lifted after Water Resources Minister N. Cheluvarayaswamy assured the farmers that the government supported their cause and received their memorandum.

23 अक्टूबर 2026 को मैसूरु-बेंगलुरु हाईवे पर गनांगुरु टोल प्लाजा पर किसानों ने दो घंटे का विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। विधायक दर्शन पुट्टण्णैया और केआरआरएस नेता बड़गलापुरा नागेंद्र के नेतृत्व में किसानों ने गन्ने की कीमतों में बढ़ोतरी की मांग की। पुलिस ने प्रदर्शनकारियों से बातचीत करने की कोशिश करते हुए यातायात को वैकल्पिक मार्गों पर मोड़ दिया। सुबह 11:30 बजे से दोपहर 1:30 बजे तक चले हाईवे जाम को जल संसाधन मंत्री एन. चेलुवरायस्वामी द्वारा किसानों को आश्वासन देने के बाद हटा दिया गया कि सरकार उनके पक्ष में है और उन्होंने उनका ज्ञापन प्राप्त किया।
