Chemical Propulsion Engineer Laurène Delsupexhe highlights the ongoing journey of gender equality in space exploration, more than sixty years after pioneering women proved their capabilities. Despite progress from the Mercury 13 to NASA's Artemis program, she notes persistent barriers remain for women in the field. Delsupexhe argues that the focus must now shift beyond just reaching the Moon to ensuring women's full representation in shaping humanity's future beyond Earth. Astronaut recruitment is nearing gender parity, marking a crucial step forward.
