CPI(ML) लिबरेशन के महासचिव दीपंकर भट्टाचार्य ने विरोध प्रदर्शनों पर लगे प्रतिबंधों को "भारत का दूसरा स्वतंत्रता संग्राम" बताया है। उन्होंने कहा कि लोगों ने कथित मतदाता धोखाधड़ी के खिलाफ विरोध प्रदर्शन करने के बाद, उन्हें विरोध करने के अपने अधिकार के लिए लड़ना पड़ा। भट्टाचार्य ने जंतर मंतर को एक विरोध स्थल के रूप में अमान्य करने का हवाला दिया, और कहा कि नागरिकों ने राष्ट्रीय ध्वज के साथ सड़कों पर उतरकर जवाब दिया।
