Revenue Inspector Arrested in Namakkal for Accepting Rs 10,000 Bribe for Temple Land Eviction

A revenue inspector in Namakkal district has been arrested by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) for allegedly demanding and accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe. The bribe was reportedly sought from a complainant in connection with the eviction of an encroachment from temple land. The complainant had approached revenue authorities and later the Madras high court, which ordered the eviction. The inspector, Jayaraman, was caught red-handed by DVAC officials during a trap laid after the complainant reported the demand. He has been remanded in judicial custody.
