NCTE Forms Committees To Revise Teacher Recruitment Rules For ITEP Graduates

The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has established two expert committees to revise teacher recruitment qualification rules and eligibility criteria for CTET and STET. These changes aim to include graduates of the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in the eligibility framework for school teaching positions. The move anticipates the graduation of the first ITEP batch in 2027. One committee will review minimum qualifications, while the other will assess eligibility for CTET and STET, ensuring ITEP graduates can pursue teaching careers.
