Punjab Stubble Burning Videos Spark Fear In Delhi Ahead Of Diwali

News18 Hindi · india

Videos showing stubble burning in Punjab are circulating online, causing concern in Delhi about worsening air quality. Farmers are seen setting fire to crop residue in fields, with some videos depicting a technique resembling a 'hawan' ritual. This practice, common in Punjab annually, contributes significantly to Delhi-NCR's pollution. Delhi's Environment Minister has criticized the Aam Aadmi Party government over the escalating fires. While recent rains temporarily improved Delhi's air quality, fears remain that pollution levels will rise again once the rain's effect subsides.
