Central Team Assesses Drought Impact and Crop Losses in Karnataka's Vijayanagara District

A three-member Central drought assessment team visited villages in Harapanahalli and Huvina Hadagali taluks of Vijayanagara district to evaluate crop damage, water availability, and rural employment. Led by Ajit Kumar Sahu, the team interacted with farmers and labourers, who reported significant crop losses and concerns about irregular employment and delayed wages under the rural job guarantee scheme. Farmers also highlighted insufficient compensation for crop damage and pending insurance claims. The team inspected damaged maize, onion, and sunflower fields, and desilting work under a rural employment scheme.

केंद्रीय टीम ने कर्नाटक के विजयनगर जिले में सूखे के असर और फसल नुकसान का जायजा लिया

विजयनगर जिले के हरिहरपुर और हुविना हडागली तालुकों के गांवों में फसल क्षति, पानी की उपलब्धता और ग्रामीण रोजगार का मूल्यांकन करने के लिए तीन सदस्यीय केंद्रीय सूखा आकलन टीम पहुंची। अजीत कुमार साहू के नेतृत्व वाली टीम ने किसानों और मजदूरों से बातचीत की, जिन्होंने फसल के भारी नुकसान और ग्रामीण रोजगार गारंटी योजना के तहत अनियमित रोजगार और देरी से मजदूरी मिलने की चिंता जताई। किसानों ने फसल क्षति के लिए अपर्याप्त मुआवजे और लंबित बीमा दावों पर भी प्रकाश डाला। टीम ने क्षतिग्रस्त मक्का, प्याज और सूरजमुखी के खेतों का निरीक्षण किया और ग्रामीण रोजगार योजना के तहत गाद निकालने के काम को देखा।
