Kerala Opposition Leader Seeks Strict Action Against Youth Congress Over Hostel Violence

Pinarayi Vijayan, Leader of the Opposition in Kerala, has written to Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala demanding stringent action against Youth Congress workers and the police. Vijayan alleged that Youth Congress workers, armed with weapons, attacked the University Hostel in Thiruvananthapuram, hurling flaming torches and stones. He further claimed that police broke into the hostel without permission and assaulted SFI activists, including SFI State secretary P.S. Sanjeev. Vijayan criticized the police for not invoking relevant acts against the attackers and for registering cases against CPI(M) leaders.
