Sugarcane Farmers Protest in Mysuru, Demand Higher Prices

The Hindu · india

Sugarcane farmers in Mysuru staged a road blockade outside the Deputy Commissioner's office on Tuesday, November 3, protesting the delay in the FRP revision and the State Government's fixation of the State Advisory Price (SAP). Farmers demanded the FRP be raised to ₹4,500 per tonne and the SAP be fixed on par with other states like Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Their attempt to lay siege to the office was prevented by police, though some leaders later held talks and submitted a memorandum.
