Delhi Police history began approximately 165 years ago, with the registration of its first FIR. The case involved the theft of women's clothing, a hookah, three cooking pots, and a bowl, valued at about 45 annas or Rs 2.80. This marked the establishment of Delhi's first police station at Sabzi Mandi. The FIR was written in Urdu and Persian, reflecting the administrative language of the time. Interestingly, Delhi was then part of the Punjab province under British rule.
