Guest lecturers in Tamil Nadu's government Arts and Science colleges are still waiting for their promised honorarium increase. The Higher Education Minister had announced in August that their monthly pay would be hiked by ₹5,000 to ₹35,000. While lecturers hoped for the hike before the festival season, the Collegiate Education Department stated that the matter is under government consideration. The increased remuneration will be disbursed once an official government order is received.
