BMC Stops 20 Sewage Outfalls Into Powai Lake, Aims to Reduce Pollution

BMC has successfully intercepted 20 sewage outfalls that were discharging into Powai Lake, diverting them to sewage treatment plants. This initiative, involving the laying of 3,056 metres of new sewer lines, will completely halt sewage discharge into the lake from Thursday. The project aims to combat pollution caused by urbanisation and daily sewage inflow, which has contributed to water contamination.
