West Bengal concluded its five-day Durga Puja festivities on Vijaya Dashami with traditional rituals like 'boron' and 'sindoor khela'. Women, dressed in white sarees with red borders, smeared vermilion on each other, symbolizing prayers for family well-being. The day also marked the immersion of idols in rivers and waterbodies across the state, including the Hooghly and Ichamati. Elaborate security arrangements were in place for the peaceful conclusion of the celebrations. The festival, celebrating Goddess Durga's homecoming, blends joy and sorrow as devotees bid farewell.
