Congress Demands CEC Resignation Over Citizenship Role

The Congress party has demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of being a front for the Prime Minister and Home Minister and acting as an affront to the Constitution. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh stated that determining citizenship is not the Election Commission of India's constitutional responsibility, citing former Supreme Court Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia. Ramesh further alleged that the CEC has violated the Constitution by illegally amending forms to disenfranchise young voters.

कांग्रेस पार्टी ने मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञान प्रकाश कुमार से इस्तीफे की मांग की है। पार्टी का आरोप है कि वे प्रधानमंत्री और गृह मंत्री के मोहरे के तौर पर काम कर रहे हैं और यह संविधान का अपमान है। कांग्रेस नेता जयराम रमेश ने कहा कि नागरिकता तय करना चुनाव आयोग की संवैधानिक जिम्मेदारी नहीं है, और उन्होंने पूर्व सुप्रीम कोर्ट जस्टिस सुQuesto Dhulia का हवाला दिया। रमेश ने यह भी आरोप लगाया कि मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ने युवा मतदाताओं को वोट देने से रोकने के लिए अवैध रूप से फॉर्म में बदलाव करके संविधान का उल्लंघन किया है।
