Mother Kills Specially-Abled Daughter, Then Dies By Suicide in Udupi

A 34-year-old woman, Nethravati, allegedly killed her 14-year-old physically challenged daughter, Suprathi, before dying by suicide in Udupi, Karnataka. The incident occurred at Shanadi in Kedoor, under Kota police station limits, on Sunday. Suprathi had been physically challenged since birth. Nethravati's husband, a daily-wage labourer, was away at work during the incident. Preliminary investigations suggest Nethravati may have used a sickle. The motive behind the tragic act remains under investigation by Kota police.

उडुपी, कर्नाटक में 34 साल की महिला नेथरावती ने कथित तौर पर अपनी 14 साल की दिव्यांग बेटी सुप्रथी की हत्या कर दी और फिर खुद भी आत्महत्या कर ली। यह घटना रविवार को कोटा पुलिस स्टेशन की सीमा के तहत केदूर के शनाडी में हुई। सुप्रथी जन्म से ही शारीरिक रूप से अक्षम थी। नेथरावती के पति, जो दिहाड़ी मजदूर हैं, घटना के समय काम पर बाहर थे। शुरुआती जांच से पता चलता है कि नेथरावती ने दरांती का इस्तेमाल किया हो सकता है। इस दुखद घटना के पीछे का मकसद अभी भी कोटा पुलिस द्वारा जांच के दायरे में है।
