Election Commission Lifts Model Code Before Khatu Shyamji

The Rajasthan State Election Commission has announced the immediate withdrawal of the Model Code of Conduct across the state. This decision comes after the completion of urban local body elections. However, it has sparked controversy as the election for the deputy chairperson of Khatu Shyamji Municipality is scheduled for Sunday. The SEC secretary stated the withdrawal would not impact the Khatu Shyamji election. Restrictions on relieving officers from election duty have also been relaxed until upcoming Panchayati Raj elections.

राजस्थान राज्य चुनाव आयोग ने पूरे राज्य में तत्काल प्रभाव से आदर्श आचार संहिता को वापस लेने की घोषणा की है। यह फैसला शहरी स्थानीय निकाय चुनावों के पूरा होने के बाद आया है। हालांकि, रविवार को खाटू श्यामजी नगरपालिका के उप-चेयरपर्सन के चुनाव के निर्धारित होने के कारण इसने विवाद खड़ा कर दिया है। एससी सचिव ने कहा कि इस वापसी का खाटू श्यामजी चुनाव पर कोई असर नहीं पड़ेगा। आगामी पंचायती राज चुनावों तक चुनाव ड्यूटी से अधिकारियों को रिलीव करने पर लगे प्रतिबंधों में भी ढील दी गई है।
