He alleged that the UDF government is collaborating with the ED, which he believes is pursuing the case with clear political intentions. Govindan highlighted the ED's low conviction rate nationally, noting only 54 out of approximately 2,000 registered cases have reached court.

CPI(M) के राज्य सचिव एम. वी. गोविंदन ने दावा किया है कि विपक्ष के नेता पिनराई विजयन से जुड़े प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ED) का मामला निराधार है और इसमें सबूतों की कमी है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि UDF सरकार ED के साथ मिलकर काम कर रही है, जिसे वह स्पष्ट राजनीतिक इरादों से मामला आगे बढ़ा रही है। गोविंदन ने राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर ED की कम सजा दर पर प्रकाश डाला, यह बताते हुए कि लगभग 2,000 दर्ज मामलों में से केवल 54 ही अदालत तक पहुंचे हैं।
