Most Asset Classes Show Red Year-to-Date Returns, Except Crude Oil and Copper
Times of India - Business · business
Most asset classes in India have reported negative year-to-date returns as of September 2026, with the Sensex down 16% and Nifty down 15%. Bond investors have also seen negative returns due to rising yields. Internationally, gold and silver prices have declined, despite a 7% weakening of the rupee. Only crude oil, driven by the US-Iran war, and copper have provided significant gains. Rising crude oil prices and a weak rupee are expected to fuel inflation, potentially spooking investors further.
