West Bengal CM Compares State's Fate to Bangladesh

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari stated that if the state had not been created, its people would have faced the same fate as Chinmoy Das of Bangladesh. He referenced the Bangladeshi Hindu monk, who was jailed for allegedly disrespecting the national flag and granted parole for his mother's funeral. Adhikari criticized the Left Front and Trinamool Congress governments for allegedly undermining Bengali Hindu cultural traditions and vowed to restore them.

पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्यमंत्री सुवेंदु अधिकारी ने कहा कि अगर राज्य नहीं बनता तो वहां के लोगों का हाल बांग्लादेश के चिन्मय दास जैसा होता। उन्होंने बांग्लादेश के उस हिंदू साधु का ज़िक्र किया, जिसे राष्ट्रीय ध्वज के अपमान के आरोप में जेल हुई थी और माँ के अंतिम संस्कार के लिए पैरोल मिली थी। अधिकारी ने लेफ्ट फ्रंट और तृणमूल कांग्रेस सरकारों पर बंगाली हिंदू संस्कृति को कमज़ोर करने का आरोप लगाया और उसे फिर से स्थापित करने की कसम खाई।
