Venkataramana Appointed In-Charge Director Public Health

The State government has appointed R. Venkataramana as the In-Charge Director of Public Health. Venkataramana currently serves as Additional Director, Disease Control Programme. Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav approved the appointment on Tuesday. This transition occurs as K. Padmavathi, the current Director, retires after 33 months in the role and 37 years with the department. The department considered seven officials before selecting Venkataramana, citing experience and pending inquiries as reasons for excluding others.
