CBSE to Integrate AI into Formal Teaching; NCERT Develops Module

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transitioning from an optional subject to a fundamental skill for CBSE students. The NCERT has developed a 20-hour introductory AI module for Classes IX-XII, intended for school-based assessment, with separate textbooks planned for advanced learners. This initiative aims to make AI literacy accessible to all students, familiarizing them with its workings, uses, and limitations. Developed in consultation with IIT Madras and IIT Jodhpur, the module will be compulsory for Class IX starting the 2026-27 academic session.

आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (AI) अब CBSE के छात्रों के लिए एक वैकल्पिक विषय से हटकर एक ज़रूरी स्किल बनने जा रहा है। NCERT ने क्लास IX-XII के लिए 20 घंटे का एक शुरुआती AI मॉड्यूल तैयार किया है, जिसे स्कूल में ही असेसमेंट के लिए इस्तेमाल किया जाएगा। आगे की पढ़ाई के लिए अलग से किताबें भी आएंगी। इस पहल का मकसद AI की जानकारी सभी छात्रों तक पहुंचाना है, ताकि वे इसके काम करने के तरीके, इसके इस्तेमाल और इसकी सीमाओं को समझ सकें। IIT Madras और IIT Jodhpur के साथ मिलकर तैयार किया गया यह मॉड्यूल 2026-27 के शैक्षणिक सत्र से क्लास IX के लिए ज़रूरी होगा।
