CAQM Orders Prosecution of Gurugram Official for Dust Mitigation Failures

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has directed the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) to prosecute an executive engineer and other officials for failing to implement dust mitigation measures. This action follows multiple inspections revealing significant dust violations on road stretches under MCG's jurisdiction. Previous inspections in December and February highlighted issues with visible dust and waste accumulation. An October examination found over 250 violations, with 174 on MCG roads, leading to the decision to hold officials accountable. The prosecution will occur before a jurisdictional judicial magistrate.

वायु गुणवत्ता प्रबंधन आयोग (CAQM) ने नगर निगम गुरुग्राम (MCG) को धूल नियंत्रण उपाय लागू करने में विफल रहने पर एक कार्यकारी अभियंता और अन्य अधिकारियों पर मुकदमा चलाने का निर्देश दिया है। यह कार्रवाई MCG के अधिकार क्षेत्र में सड़क के हिस्सों पर धूल के उल्लंघन की कई जांचों के बाद हुई है। दिसंबर और फरवरी में पिछली जांचों में धूल और कचरे के जमाव की समस्या सामने आई थी। अक्टूबर की एक जांच में 250 से अधिक उल्लंघन पाए गए थे, जिनमें से 174 MCG सड़कों पर थे, जिसके कारण अधिकारियों को जवाबदेह ठहराने का फैसला किया गया। मुकदमा अधिकार क्षेत्र के न्यायिक मजिस्ट्रेट के समक्ष होगा।
