In Rajasthan's arid landscape, sacred groves known as Orans are vital for sustaining communities and wildlife. These groves provide essential fodder for livestock, enabling women to earn income from milk and dairy products, which funds education and household needs. Orans also serve as habitats for diverse animals, including deer, birds, and wild cats, and their roots help prevent desertification. Bhadariya Oran in Jaisalmer is India's largest, with Rajasthan possessing over 600,000 hectares of Oran land across approximately 25,000 groves.
