FSSAI is preparing to introduce new regulations for 'analog paneer'. Currently, products made from vegetable oils like palm oil are sold as paneer, confusing consumers. The proposed rule aims to prevent products not made from milk from being marketed or sold under the name 'paneer'. This move comes after several states began banning such products and companies questioned the licensing for their production. The draft notification seeks public suggestions for 60 days before becoming law.

एफएसएसएआई 'एनालॉग पनीर' के लिए नए नियम ला रहा है। अभी, पाम ऑयल जैसे वनस्पति तेलों से बना पनीर ग्राहकों को भ्रमित कर रहा है। नए नियम के तहत, दूध से न बने उत्पादों को 'पनीर' नाम से बेचा या प्रचारित नहीं किया जा सकेगा। कई राज्यों में ऐसे उत्पादों पर रोक लगने और कंपनियों द्वारा लाइसेंसिंग पर सवाल उठाने के बाद यह कदम उठाया गया है। ड्राफ्ट नोटिफिकेशन पर 60 दिनों तक लोगों से सुझाव मांगे जाएंगे।
