Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has appointed Indian-origin tech executive Chirantan 'CJ' Desai as the head of its new AI business. Desai, who recently became CEO of MongoDB, will now report directly to Mark Zuckerberg. Meta is launching Meta Enterprise Platforms to offer its AI models, agents, and tools to companies and developers, which Zuckerberg described as the next major pillar of Meta's business. Desai's extensive experience in leadership roles at major tech firms like Oracle, ServiceNow, and MongoDB will be leveraged for this new venture.
