Kerala on Orange Alert: Four Districts Brace For Heavy Rainfall

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for four districts in Kerala, including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha, forecasting very heavy rainfall within the next 24 hours. This warning comes as low-pressure systems over the Bay of Bengal are expected to bring thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Ten other districts are on yellow alert for isolated heavy rainfall. The state has already experienced significant rainfall, with Ponmudi recording 14 cm in the last 24 hours. Further intensification of rainfall is anticipated from October 23 to 25.
