Ovechkin Appears in Video for Putin's Party

Ice hockey star Alexander Ovechkin has appeared in a campaign video for Russia's ruling United Russia party, which supports President Vladimir Putin. The video shows Ovechkin among supporters behind Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. This is not the first time Ovechkin has shown support for Putin; in 2017, he created "PutinTeam" to aid Putin's presidential campaign. Ovechkin stated he has always openly supported the president and believes many others do too.
