India's free trade agreement with the European Union is anticipated to become operational in the first quarter of 2027, following its signing by the end of 2026. Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal announced this timeline during the Berlin Global Dialogue in Germany. Goyal also expressed concerns that EU regulations, such as the carbon border adjustment mechanism and steel import duties, could negatively impact the European economy.
