US Sanctions Indian Firms and Citizens for Supporting Iran's Oil Trade

The United States has imposed sanctions on several Indian companies and citizens for allegedly supporting Iran's oil trade and aviation sector. The US Treasury Department targeted a network run by Suniel Kumar Sharma and Jaspreet Preeti Shahid, accusing them of facilitating Iran's "shadow fleet" through maritime fraud and providing false certifications to sanctioned vessels. Two other Indian citizens and nine entities linked to the couple were also sanctioned. Additionally, a Türkiye-based firm, Fugo Ground Services, was sanctioned for supporting Iran's aviation industry.
