Veteran Communist MLA G Sudhakaran has criticised Kerala's SARAL Keralam Bill, 2026, warning it could endanger paddy fields, wetlands, and water sources without adequate safeguards. He argued that while the bill aims to expedite industrial clearances, its implementation could severely impact the agricultural sector, particularly in Kuttanad. Chief Minister V D Satheesan rejected the criticism, assuring that the bill would not undermine departmental powers and would ensure proper scrutiny of projects.

वरिष्ठ कम्युनिस्ट विधायक जी सुधाकरण ने केरल के SARAL Keralam Bill, 2026 की आलोचना की है। उन्होंने चेतावनी दी है कि पर्याप्त सुरक्षा उपायों के बिना यह धान के खेतों, आर्द्रभूमियों और जल स्रोतों को खतरे में डाल सकता है। उनका तर्क था कि बिल का उद्देश्य औद्योगिक मंजूरी में तेजी लाना है, लेकिन इसके कार्यान्वयन से कृषि क्षेत्र, खासकर Kuttanad में गंभीर प्रभाव पड़ सकता है। मुख्यमंत्री V D Satheesan ने आलोचना को खारिज कर दिया और आश्वासन दिया कि बिल विभागीय शक्तियों को कमजोर नहीं करेगा और परियोजनाओं की उचित जांच सुनिश्चित करेगा।
