Independent Candidate Alleges Cash, Liquor Distribution Ahead of Vijayawada Civic Polls

Independent mayoral candidate A B Venkateswara Rao has lodged a complaint with the State Election Commission alleging large-scale distribution of cash and liquor to influence voters in Vijayawada. He submitted video clips purportedly showing cash distribution in specific wards and urged the SEC to order an immediate probe. Rao called for special enforcement teams, intensified police surveillance, and criminal action against those involved. He also stressed the need to identify organisers and financiers behind the alleged vote-buying operations, warning that post-poll action would be ineffective.

स्वतंत्र मेयर पद के उम्मीदवार ए बी वेंकटेश्वर राव ने राज्य चुनाव आयोग से शिकायत दर्ज कराई है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया है कि विजयवाड़ा में मतदाताओं को प्रभावित करने के लिए बड़े पैमाने पर नकदी और शराब बांटी जा रही है। राव ने कुछ खास वार्डों में नकदी वितरण दिखाते हुए वीडियो क्लिप भी जमा किए हैं। उन्होंने चुनाव आयोग से तुरंत जांच का आदेश देने की मांग की है। राव ने विशेष प्रवर्तन टीमों, पुलिस की कड़ी निगरानी और इसमें शामिल लोगों के खिलाफ आपराधिक कार्रवाई की भी मांग की है। उन्होंने कथित वोट खरीदने के पीछे आयोजकों और फाइनेंसरों की पहचान करने की जरूरत पर भी जोर दिया।
