India has officially operationalised its new resident mission in San Jose, Costa Rica, effective October 10. This move aims to expand India's diplomatic presence in Central America and strengthen bilateral relations. The mission is expected to foster closer political engagement, boost trade and investment, and enhance cooperation in pharmaceuticals and IT. It will also facilitate people-to-people contacts and provide improved consular assistance to Indian nationals residing in Costa Rica.
