Minister Slams Opposition Over EC-SIR Row

Union minister Prahlad Joshi has criticized the opposition's protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Joshi stated there is no concrete proof to support the allegations and suggested the opposition is expressing distress over electoral defeat. He referenced a report claiming internal objections, but maintained the Election Commission stated all final decisions were unanimous. Joshi clarified he was speaking based on the ECI's press release, not on behalf of the commission itself.

केंद्रीय मंत्री प्रहलाद जोशी ने चुनाव आयोग के मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार के खिलाफ विपक्ष के विरोध की आलोचना की है। जोशी ने कहा कि आरोपों के समर्थन में कोई ठोस सबूत नहीं है और विपक्ष चुनावी हार से परेशान है। उन्होंने एक रिपोर्ट का हवाला दिया जिसमें आंतरिक आपत्तियों का दावा किया गया था, लेकिन कहा कि चुनाव आयोग ने कहा है कि सभी अंतिम निर्णय सर्वसम्मति से लिए गए थे। जोशी ने स्पष्ट किया कि वह आयोग की ओर से नहीं, बल्कि ईसीआई की प्रेस विज्ञप्ति के आधार पर बोल रहे थे।
