Despite a 12% deficit in monsoon rainfall, the total kharif crop acreage reached 1,107 lakh hectares, exceeding the five-year average of 1,104 lakh hectares. Paddy and sugarcane acreage also surpassed their normal levels, indicating farmers' strategic adjustments to advance warnings. However, the actual yield of pulses, oilseeds, cotton, and coarse cereals remains a concern due to skewed rainfall distribution. The agriculture ministry is planning contingency measures for the upcoming rabi season due to low soil moisture.

मानसून में 12% की कमी के बावजूद, खरीफ फसलों की कुल बुवाई 1,107 लाख हेक्टेयर तक पहुँच गई, जो 1,104 लाख हेक्टेयर के पाँच साल के औसत से ज़्यादा है। धान और गन्ने की बुवाई भी सामान्य स्तर से ऊपर रही, जो किसानों द्वारा पहले से मिली चेतावनियों पर सोच-समझकर किए गए बदलावों को दर्शाता है। हालाँकि, दालों, तिलहन, कपास और मोटे अनाजों की वास्तविक उपज बारिश के असमान वितरण के कारण चिंता का विषय बनी हुई है। कम मिट्टी की नमी के कारण कृषि मंत्रालय आगामी रबी सीजन के लिए आकस्मिक योजनाएँ बना रहा है।
